Construction

An ordinary sock is knitted in one piece into a tube on a circular knitting machine. The Knit Tabi is different: the knit fabric is cut with size-specific dies and sewn into shape using tabi-making techniques. They may look similar, but the construction — and the feel — are something else entirely.

Origin

Fabric — Mitsuke, Niigata
In Mitsuke, a center of knit production, a knit mill worked the knit tension until it held up to being cut and sewn — a jacquard knit made from polyester yarn.

Sewing — Gyoda, Saitama
Tailored in Gyoda, the home of tabi, by the tabi method.

Choosing your size

The Knit Tabi comes in two sizes, M and L. Use your usual shoe size as a guide.

• M: 23.0–25.5 cm (approx.)
• L: 26.0–28.5 cm (approx.)

If you are between sizes (25.5–26.0 cm): the knit has a comfortable stretch, so choose L for a relaxed fit or M for a snug fit. Thanks to the split-toe construction, drawing your toes all the way in gives the most comfortable fit.

Care

Machine washable at home. To prevent snagging and loss of shape, always place the item in a laundry net before washing.
